They put the bundles of thread that they are
going to stain, held up by wooden sticks.
They stain the clothes after tighting them
so that the figures are designed.

WEAVING
The cloths are made on a belt loom, a technique
in which the women use small sticks of wood
to weave the thread in order to make the cloth.
The size of the cloths are 20 inches wide
by 63 inches long. The women weave the cloth
with the cones of thread according to the
design of the hammock.

MAKING OF THE HAMMOCK
§ PUTTING TOGETHER THE CLOTH AND MACRAME
They
sew together the cloths with a simple sewing
machine. A macramé border is made by hand
from the threads that were left unsown. These
will serve as holders.

HOLDER
They make the holder that goes on each edge
of the hammock by hand with thread cotton,
in the form of a hook. They attach the hook
to the end of the macramé with a series of
knots.
